About the course
It’s easy to play a round of golf during your stay in Ambillou.
Just 5 kilometres from La Trigalière, you reach Château des 7 Tours via a wide avenue lined with old oaks and tall poplars.
Since 1990, a picturesque 18-hole golf course has surrounded the seven towers of the château. Today, the only fortresses around the 15th century manor are the sandy bunkers which stand guard over the greens, the flags and the holes.
The course is a classic par 72 with 6,093 metres of green with a wooded first section. For specialists, there is a single par 3, and two very long par 5s, 500m for the 5th hole and 520m for the 9th.
On the return, which is clearer and easier, there are points to be won! And note the fine 14th hole. A par 5 with a light dog-leg to the left. Teeing off is a real pleasure with 3 large pines acting as landmarks at the end of the fairway. Overall the bunkers on the course are open and the approaches to the green relatively easy. There are no double plateau greens here – the amateur golfer’s nightmare and a place where scorecards go to die.
